Areas of responsibility:
- Independent scientific research and teaching;
- scientific support in research and teaching in the Department of Geoinformatics;
- collaboration in the research group Geospatial Sustainability Compliance;
- development of independent research proposals;
- processing of funded research projects;
- active participation in administrative tasks;
- independent teaching of four semester hours per week.
Job requirements:
- Completed doctoral studies in geoinformatics, computer science, or related disciplines;
- Experience in scientific writing, active publication in scientific journals and presence at conferences;
- Experience in university teaching;
- Project design and management: ability to write research proposals and to coordinate with academic and non-academic partners;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English;
- Proven expertise in Geographic Information Science;
- Advanced knowledge in one of the following areas: GIS & Spatial Analysis, Spatial Data Science, Earth Observation, Sustainability Science, Environmental Monitoring.
Desirable additional qualifications:
- Experience in funded research projects;
- German language skills (or plausibly documented willingness to learn the language).
Desired personal qualities:
- Organizational and analytical skills and a structured approach to work;
- interest and enjoyment of research and working with students;
- ability to work in a team and problem-solving skills.
