The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a position as a Postdoc (f/m/x) for the project led by Prof. Klemens Hammerer.

Your Tasks

1. Planning and performing research in Theoretical Quantum Optics and Quantum Information.
2. Collaborating with experiments on Quantum Information Processing with Cold Atoms and Ions.
3. Co-supervising PhD students.

Your Profile

• PhD in physics with an excellent academic record.
• Experience with theoretical research on quantum optics, cavity QED systems, entanglement generation, quantum gates, and quantum sensing protocols.
• Experience in quantum control methods, numerical simulations, and modeling quantum systems under realistic noise and decoherence.
• Strong background in quantum information theory, atomic and optical physics, open quantum systems, and quantum machine learning.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work in a team and present scientific results effectively.
