This job role is a seasonal (FTC - Fixed Term Contract) for 12 months on the Amazon payroll.

Amazon Middle East and North Africa (MENA) team is seeking a Software Development Engineer passionate about building great products for Customers & Sellers. The SDE-I will be based in Amman, JOR, with experience in software engineering, including designing, architecting, and solving complex problems.

Job Summary:

As an SDE-I, you will be a key part of our software development team, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions to meet company needs. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software products. This entry-level role offers growth and learning opportunities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, develop specifications, and design software solutions.
  2. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  3. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and standards.
  4. Develop and maintain unit tests to validate software functionality.
  5. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues promptly.
  6. Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them when applicable.
  7. Document software designs, implementation details, and procedures.
  8. Assist in deployment and configuration of software applications.
  9. Contribute to continuous improvement within the development process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • Experience programming in at least one software language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as version control (e.g., Git), IDEs, and build tools.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Previous internship or project experience is a plus.
