Our product management team consists of technologists passionate about delivering products that shape market demands and promote open source software. Our goal is to make open source easier, reliable, and secure, starting with Ubuntu and expanding across applications and compute classes. We select product managers for their intellect and drive to advance the open source community, aiming to improve quality, outreach, and impact. Product managers set vision and direction, ensuring teams deliver the right products at the right time, pushing technological boundaries to explore new market opportunities.

Juju, an open source orchestration engine, is one of the focus areas, enabling deployment and lifecycle management of applications at any scale using charms. Other focus areas include Identity Management and Observability, defining strategies for authentication, authorization, identity governance, and system health monitoring.

This role is remote, based in the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the product lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals.
  2. Work with engineering leads to oversee development processes.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and address challenges.
  4. Conduct market research, analyze trends, and gather customer feedback.
  5. Develop and coach your team.
  6. Establish KPIs and communicate progress.
  7. Drive continuous improvement and execution excellence.
  8. Contribute to strategies for high-performing teams.
  9. Support sales efforts by reviewing customer feedback and participating in meetings.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Experience in product management within open source and cloud native domains.
  2. Experience managing software operations for large distributed systems.
  3. Knowledge of cloud native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  4. Understanding of enterprise security and compliance requirements.
  5. Proven leadership in technical teams.
  6. Passion for writing and developer marketing.
  7. Strong work ethic and alignment with open source values.
  8. Excellent English communication skills.
  9. Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year.

  1. Experience with CNCF projects, identity, or observability systems.
