A new role has been formed as Head of Finance and Business Solutions, responsible for providing financial, procurement, business systems, information technology and reporting to optimise efficiencies, performance and costs across Telegram Co. and its related channels.
Position Purpose
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be pivotal in driving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting sustainable growth across our retail and wholesale operations.
The ideal candidate will not only possess strategic financial acumen but also brings experience in implementing information technology solutions, leveraging business intelligence tools, negotiating supplier agreements and overseeing complex risk management initiatives.
These capabilities will ensure the seamless alignment of financial strategies with broader business objectives in an increasingly digital and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the company’s financial and management reporting processes, including profit and loss analysis, setting of budgets, forecasts and cash flow analysis
Lead the financial planning and budgeting process annually and contribute to the Telegram Co. strategy creation.
Create and lead an internal business case process for all investment related initiatives and support the leadership team to determine the return on investment, and feed this into the annual CAPEX plan.
Analyse and report on financial, incentives sales results to budget, forecast and prior year
Develop and implement strategies to transform and optimize business processes, systems, and operations through technology
Oversee the information technology outsourced services of ongoing enhancement / development roadmap for business systems that continue to ensure NetSuite, Shopify, Microsoft and Atlassian are providing value to the business
Oversee the Business Intelligence (BI) function to ensure that timely, accurate, and actionable insights are generated for stakeholders
Optimise reporting frameworks to provide key metrics, financial analysis, and strategic insights that drive decision-making at all levels of the organization
Lead the development of dashboards and reporting tools that improve the accessibility and usability of financial and business data across the organisation.
Support the CEO with strong cost governance, reviewing cost centre P&L’s monthly with functional leaders to identify risks and opportunities.
Lead and mentor a diverse team of finance, IT, business systems, and BI professionals
Prepare monthly financial board reports for the CEO in line with Dymocks requirements and collate the inputs from the leadership team
Oversee the Telegram Co.’s risk register, ensuring effective governance controls are in place
All other duties as required.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong leadership experience coupled with an excellent track record of collaborating with others to oversee and improve company financial performance.
Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
CA or CPA qualification
Financial management experience within the retail and wholesale sectors will be highly regarded, as it will enable a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within these markets. Experience implementing BI and operational efficiencies across organisations
A strong understanding of information technology solutions, business solutions, business intelligence, and change management will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing procurement principles across a variety of suppliers.
Experience leading outsourced providers to deliver and execute operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Demonstrated experience in successfully leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve results
