The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of an expanded and strengthened workforce through development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation and develop a workforce who provide leadership in health system reform and provision of a high quality, integrated system of health and social support services. The team build workforce pathways, create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways

About the Role?

As the Manager of Student Placements, you will manage the development and delivery of work integrated learning (WIL) and coordinate student projects across the SEQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services, supporting the workforce initiatives of the IUIH. Within this role, you will be required to:

  • Maintain and grow university relationships to support workforce development objectives including the development of a culturally responsive health workforce and pathways for mob into university qualifications.
  • Coordination of project student placements across the IUIH Network including supervision of some projects/students
  • Manage and lead the IUIH Student Placements team to ensure a high-quality WIL experience for all involved.
  • Teaching and input into university curriculum across a range of disciplines, including upskilling of IUIH Network staff to deliver these lectures.
  • Working with the Pathways Our Way team and the Careers Our way team to identify, develop and support pathways for mob into university.

About You?

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Current QLD Blue Card
  • Qualification in Health or other relevant discipline

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
