About the Role:

Are you passionate about transport and logistics and eager to advance your career in sales?

The Rapid Group is seeking a Sales and Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team in South Australia. This is a permanent position working with the Business Development Manager and Chief Operating Officer, that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced team environment. This role will play a crucial part in working with our amazing customers to drive business growth. This role is perfect for someone with a strong interest in the transport industry and a desire to develop their skills in pricing (and winning) a range of logistics services.

As part of the Rapid Group of companies, Rapid provides transport of dry goods and refrigerated products, wharf cartage, and distribution services for a range of local, national, and international clients. We have built an impressive portfolio of customers and a service range that exceeds most expectations. This includes an extensive warehouse, container unpacking and quarantine/bonded solutions under the management of our Warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Developing and enhancing relationships with existing clients and new partners to identify increased service offerings and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide advice on our product range to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Create costings and quotations.
  • Review the sales/quote pipeline regularly to maximise opportunities and identify changes required to our quoting model to improve success.

To be successful, you will have demonstrated experience in sales, customer service, or administration within transport or a related industry, either independently or as part of a team. Naturally you are driven, and self-motivated with strong personal presentation skills. In working closely with our talented Operations Team as well as the BDM and COO, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your repertoire in the industry and improve the quality and outcome of what you quote.

Skills:

  • Ability to conceptualise processes and solutions and apply them to the customer requirement.
  • Preparedness to proactively contact customers, either as a follow up to a submission or to generate new opportunities.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Focussed upon conversion of opportunities and a high rate of success.

You will be responsible for:

  • Replying to sometimes large volumes of quote requests, while identifying those that require more experience/senior assistance.
  • Managing customer relationships.
  • Sourcing new business opportunities.
  • Relating to a large and diverse group of customers in many industries.
