Architectural Business Development Manager

Base circa $120K (subject to exp) + Super + Bonus

Are you passionate about architecture, sustainable design, and high-quality timber products? An exciting opportunity has opened up with one of Australia’s leading wholesalers of timber, flooring, and panel products. This well-established, second-generation family business is growing rapidly and is built on close to 50 years of trust, integrity, and long-term partnerships.

This newly created position offers a rare chance to lead the company’s architectural division at a national level, driving growth and brand presence across both high-end commercial and residential projects.

The Role:

As the Architectural Business Development Manager, you will be the key point of contact for architects, designers, builders, and developers across the country. Your responsibility will be to position our client's premium, locally-produced hardwood timber products as the material of choice for high-spec projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the architecture, design, and construction sectors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders
  • Deliver engaging and tailored product presentations to influence project specifications
  • Collaborate with clients to offer custom solutions that meet both design and performance goals
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities in architecture and construction, utilizing your technical expertise to develop innovative timber solutions that comply with Australian building codes and industry standards

About You:

You are a commercially minded relationship builder with a passion for working with architects, designers, and builders to bring great projects to life. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and enjoy shaping your own career path.

Additionally, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the architecture, design, or construction sectors (preferably in Victoria)
  • A strong network of industry contacts and confidence to engage at all levels
  • Experience in the timber industry — this is essential
  • An engineering mindset with a solid understanding of Australian building codes and standards
  • Experience using CRM systems and tendering/quoting platforms such as Estimate One
  • A willingness to travel nationally to meet clients and attend key industry events
