Job Introduction
Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Worldwide, more than 500 customers in some 150 countries with more than 45,000 workstations already trust our know-how and proven experience.
Ensuring the highest standards of safety in air traffic requires systems tailored to the complex needs of modern Air Traffic Management (ATM) networks. At Frequentis, we design and implement innovative solutions that improve safety, boost capacity, and increase operational efficiency. We're looking for a solution-oriented professional with technical intuition and a passion for working on global projects. You will take ownership across the full lifecycle – from system design through to successful customer handover.
Why Frequentis?
- Work on mission-critical, high-impact projects with international visibility – and grow into roles such as Lead System Engineer.
- Collaborate with global customers and expert teams, with international business travel included.
- Join a company that values diversity, innovation, and quality – in a modern, team-oriented work culture.
Key Tasks
- You will be part of a dedicated engineering team, responsible for technical specifications, system integration, and acceptance at customer sites.
- As the technical point of contact, you will support international clients – including projects across North and South America.
- You will configure and implement standard IT and network components, along with Frequentis-specific solutions in safety-critical environments.
- You'll contribute to system architecture, assess technical feasibility, and optimize solutions with a strong cost-benefit mindset.
- You will coordinate between internal departments (e.g. software, testing, documentation) and external partners – serving as a key communication hub.
- You will conduct system and acceptance tests together with customers and project teams – both at our Vienna headquarters and on-site.
Key Qualifications
- Several years of experience as a System Engineer, System Administrator, or Network Technician (ideally 3+ years).
- Strong technical background in IT, operating systems (especially Linux), and networking – whether through education, training, or career change.
- Familiarity with network technologies (Layer 2 & 3) and ideally with UDP, TCP, and multicast protocols.
- Experience in safety-critical environments and a proactive, quality-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and willingness to travel internationally (~30%).
- Very good English skills (spoken and written); Portuguese or Spanish would be an asset.
