WoodLinks State School is seeking applications for a Head of Department (Curriculum) to join on a temporary part-time basis, at 0.20 FTE per fortnight, for 7 months unless otherwise determined.

This role works with Grades 4-6 alongside the substantive HOD (C), who covers the remaining 0.8 FTE. There is also a HOD (C) for Prep - Grade 3.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, collaborating with other HOD(C)s and contributing to the broader Leadership Team, including the Principal, Deputy Principals, Head of Inclusive Practice, and a Support Teacher (Literacy and Numeracy).

The primary focus will be extending our work in Shared Dialogic Reading, supported by a solid understanding of the Australian Curriculum (Version 9) in English, Maths, and Science, and the Building Thinking Classrooms approach.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading curriculum areas or whole-school programs to develop and implement a shared educational vision aimed at delivering quality learning outcomes for all students.
  2. Embedding socially just practices in daily school life.
  3. Setting high standards for student and staff performance.
  4. Participating in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
