About the Role

AsExecutive Director, Workforce Intelligence and Delivery, you’ll be the organisation’s lead strategist for workforce foresight, planning, and program delivery. You’ll anticipate future workforce trends, translate data into action, and ensure AUSMASA’s work stays ahead of sector change.

This role is about more than analytics—it’s about shaping national reform through the power of evidence. You’ll oversee labour market research, lead enterprise-wide project delivery through our PMO, and collaborate with peers across training products, pathways, and industry engagement.

You’ll need deep knowledge of the mining, automotive, or allied sectors and a passion for aligning workforce intelligence with long-term capability-building.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the development of workforce plans grounded in data, sector input, and strategic foresight
  • Build and run AUSMASA’s labour market intelligence capability—delivering actionable insights that inform policy and practice
  • Oversee AUSMASA’s Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure timely, aligned, and coordinated delivery of strategic initiatives
  • Commission and translate research on megatrends such as decarbonisation, automation, and regional growth into clear strategies
  • Collaborate across government, industry, and education sectors to co-create workforce solutions
  • Represent AUSMASA as a credible voice in high-level forums, submissions, and national working groups
  • Work closely with the executive team to embed evidence-based decision-making across the organisation
Who You Are

You’re a future-thinker with a passion for turning insight into action. You’re as comfortable briefing senior government leaders as you are collaborating with delivery teams on project milestones.

You bring:
  • Proven executive experience in workforce strategy, labour market analytics, or PMO leadership
  • Deep understanding of the mining, automotive, or allied sectors—plus credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Strong track record in leading research, data analysis, or reform initiatives in complex, multi-stakeholder settings
  • Experience working across government, education, or industry on skills and workforce development
  • A collaborative mindset, strong systems thinking, and an instinct for influence
