We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Venue Operations Manager to join our team at the stunning Sfera's Park Suites & Convention Centre, a premier venue known for its quality events, accommodation, and hospitality.

Reporting to the Venue Director, this role plays a pivotal part in the effective daily operations of the venue, overseeing the coordination and delivery of events, hospitality services, and front-of-house functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team on a fixed-term two year contract!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day food and beverage operations across café, bars, conferences, functions, and room service.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and successful execution of a wide range of events.
  • Supervise front-of-house operations including rosters, front desk, accommodation, and booking systems (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia).
  • Oversee staff performance, training, and development to maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
  • Maintain inventory levels, manage AV and venue equipment, and ensure event setups meet quality expectations.
  • Drive revenue targets through effective operational planning and customer service excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless events and hospitality experiences, coordinate, and deliver in-house events aligned with brand goals and community engagement outcomes.

About you

  • Proven experience managing a multi-space venue, function centre, or hospitality business.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience in hospitality/event environments.
  • High-level problem-solving, communication, and planning skills.
  • Strong understanding of venue operations, food safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
  • Competency in using hospitality booking and POS systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including regular weekend and out-of-hours availability.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Valid RSA and Responsible Person Badge.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current DHS Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management is desirable.
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.
