Role Overview

We seek a motivated specialist to develop and enhance VERA, our proprietary meteorological analysis and downscaling system.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and improve VERA.
• Develop downstream physical models and algorithms for better forecasts.
• Investigate complex weather phenomena through case studies.
• Evaluate different meteorological simulation methods.
• Visualize analyzed and simulated data.

Qualifications:

• Master’s in Meteorology, Physics, Geophysics, or related field.
• Experience with meteorological forecasting models.
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and statistics.
• Programming skills in Python and Matlab.
• Experience with Linux.
• English proficiency; German is a plus.

Minimum salary is EUR 42,000 gross/year, with potential overpayment based on experience.
