As a Senior Advisor (WHS), you will play a critical frontline role in ensuring contractor safety assurance across infrastructure projects within the Government. You’ll support project and contract managers, provide expert WHS advice, and ensure contractors meet safety performance expectations.

Working closely with regional management and other WHS professionals, you will drive improvements in safety governance and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project and regional leadership to deliver safety assurance aligned with the IMD WHS Delivery Model.
• Provide expert advice on WHS legislation, standards, and TMR safety policies and procedures.
• Support and review contractor safety performance, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Lead and support site inspections and audits at principal contractor workplaces.
• Assist in the implementation of contractor safety assurance content and training.
• Monitor trends and innovations in WHS practices to ensure contemporary delivery of safety functions.
• Facilitate effective communication between TMR project teams and principal contractors on safety matters.

About You:

• Proven experience in contractor WHS assurance on major infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
• The ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and standards in a practical project context.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach to safety leadership.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS)
• Traffic Management qualifications (Desirable)
