Solutions Engineer (w/m/d)

DP World is growing! We have exciting opportunities for Solutions Engineers (f/m/d) of all levels to join our expanding business across Germany and Austria due to significant growth and contract wins.

The primary focus of these roles will be to bring solutions to life for our prospective customers within the Contract Logistics space, analyzing customer information and designing solutions tailored to customer requirements. You will be experienced in developing concepts for formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, automation processes, and facility layouts in complex cases.

These roles involve periods of significant travel across Germany, Austria, and Europe, so flexibility to travel is essential.

About the role

• Identify, develop, and nurture new customers and sales activities with existing customers, including beneficial cargo owners, freight providers, etc.
• Design supply chain/contract logistics solutions from large-scale (geographical optimization) to small-scale (process and station design) as part of RFQ process.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Account Management, Launch, and Operational teams during solution development.
• Present technical solutions to customers via proposals, conference calls, and presentations in conjunction with account management.
• Develop RFQ concepts into detailed designs post-award for the launch process.
• Support and lead the delivery of engineering elements during new business launches, including data creation, process validation, infrastructure works, onboarding, and contractor management.
• Act as an interface between regional functions and other business areas as needed.
• Ensure engineering alignment with operations and support functions during RFQ and launch phases.
• Translate operational briefs into defined solution proposals and deploy into live operations.
• Contribute to regional and global initiatives and update existing processes as required.
• Provide data to demonstrate individual and team contributions to the business.
• Identify and resolve operational pinch points through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work independently on-site, ensuring engineering obligations are met.
• Support training and development of plant-based engineering teams and embed regional standards.
• Become a subject matter expert in engineering processes, tools, and techniques, including MTM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Excel.
• Perform any other activities within the scope of the engineering role to support operations.

Your Key Skills

• Experience in solutions design for 3PL/4PL or freight forwarding services.
• Effective communication across all levels.
• German language skills at minimum B2 level; additional European languages are a plus.
• Ability to understand client requirements and advocate for them within engineering.
• Data interpretation and analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, Project Management software, and AutoCAD.
• Project management and operational experience.
