The Role

Reporting to the Board Audit Committee and CEO, the Manager of Internal Audit is responsible for managing PCU’s Internal Audit function and is an Accountable Person under the Financial Accountability Regime Act. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing and implementing a risk-based internal audit function.
  2. Planning, managing, and conducting independent reviews of risk, internal controls, and related matters.
  3. Ensuring operating procedures and controls are effective to help PCU achieve its business objectives.
  4. Providing assurance on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls related to financial affairs, operations, and systems.
  5. Performing duties as the Returning Officer in accordance with the PCU Constitution.
  6. Presenting internal audit reports at Board Audit and relevant Management Committees.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, auditing, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Internal Audit or Risk Management is highly regarded.
  • Significant internal or external audit experience.
  • Understanding of Australian and Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Professional competence in collecting, examining, and evaluating information.
  • Ability to communicate audit findings and recommendations professionally.
  • Experience in Accounting, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Information Security is highly desirable.
  • Team-oriented with a positive and collaborative approach.
  • High attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently.
