What you will be doing
Reporting directly to Manager, Centralised Voting & Enforcement Services, this role will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering large centralised electoral operations
  • Leading the distribution of postal votes and return process of completed postal votes for parliamentary elections
  • Ensuring operational efficiency though subject matter expertise in relevant sections of the VEC's election management system (EMS.
  • Supporting staff in the fulfilment of their duties by setting team priorities, identifying learning and development needs and providing performance feedback.

What you will bring to the role

  • Knowledge of and appropriate experience with software development methodology, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to work under limited direction and take full accountability for the planning, prioritising and organising work for self and others to achieve goals and deadlines for team's core deliverables.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills with experience in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse a group including executives, managers and staff as well as external providers.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing and developing staff across multiple projects, setting direction, motivating others to achieve team objectives and building team commitment.
  • Commitment to the VEC's core values
