Job Title: Vice President, Business Development - Department Of State

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Vice President, Business Development to join our team, specializing in identifying and qualifying opportunities within the Federal sector, with expertise within the National Security domain and specifically within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, market analysis, and client relationship management within these sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain successful relationships with clients within DOS Bureaus such as: Information Resource Management (IRM)/Diplomatic Technology (DT), Consular Affairs (CA), Diplomatic Security (DS), Administration (A), Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO), Foreign Service Institute (FSI), the T Bureau Family, Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), and Office of Foreign Missions (OFM).
- Leverage relationships to conduct client meetings and develop call planning activities to understand client requirements, match Alpha Omega's capabilities to meet client needs, and shape new opportunities.
- Work with the Alpha Omega DOS Account Team to identify, qualify, and cultivate potential pipeline opportunities, including organic growth as well as new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Alpha Omega DOS Account Lead and VP to position and compete for new and recompete work supporting Alpha Omega's core capabilities in Agile development/DevSecOps, IT PMO, Cyber Security, Cloud Services, and Intelligent Automation.
- Lead or assist with capture management and work with Proposal team to develop, edit, and evaluate technical and management aspects of proposals, leveraging client knowledge to produce differentiated bids.
- Participate in bid decisions, develop cost strategies, and conduct capture phase reviews.
- Obtain marketing intelligence and develop marketing strategies based on competitive data and targeted pursuits.
- Work with Alpha Omega's Technical Solutions Group to understand and position capabilities and differentiators, and articulate our value proposition to clients.
- Join and/or participate in industry organizations (e.g., ACT-IAC, AFCEA, PSC) and marketing events to enhance brand reputation, generate interest, and inform the client community.
- Leverage supporting resources effectively in the sales process with teamwork and cooperation.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or relevant field and 15+ years of experience in Federal IT sales, with the last 3-5 years in business development for DOS.
Experience/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of DOS programs, mission, and initiatives, with the ability to open doors and drive business.
- Experience in BD sales to Federal civilian agencies, including developing relationships, account strategies, pipeline, and leading capture and proposals.
- Experience winning medium-sized bids (>$5M annual revenue) or larger in DOS.
- Confidence in dealing with senior executives; ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, multi-task environments.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and foster positive working relationships.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range is approximately $180,707 - $200,000, subject to factors like experience, skills, and education.
