Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for the sales of digital automation and control systems as well as cybersecurity solutions for customers in Austria. You develop customer-oriented strategies to increase market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction. By working closely with account managers and project managers, you identify new business opportunities, drive the service business, and ensure the expansion of the installed base in the chemical, energy, and industrial sectors. You apply your technical expertise and market-oriented know-how directly to sales activities and project coordination.You will be mainly accountable for:• Proactive customer management with a focus on plant expansions, new installations, and maintenance to ensure long-term customer retention.• Monitoring of the entire lifecycle of the installed base and ensuring comprehensive service contract coverage, including regular renewals.• Building, maintaining, and deepening customer relationships through technical support, digital solutions, and addressing technical challenges.• Identifying new sales opportunities to improve customer efficiency and productivity, while taking commercial responsibility for joint development.• Close cross-departmental collaboration to ensure optimal customer satisfaction, combined with market observation and strategic development of the service business in line with ABB values such as safety and integrity.

Qualifications for the role

  • Completed technical education (HTL, University of Applied Sciences, or University), preferably in electrical, communications, or automation engineering.
  • +5 years of professional experience in consultative sales and in managing and developing customer relationships.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, combined with high self-motivation and goal orientation.
  • Excellent German language skills are mandatory; English proficiency is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital automation and control systems as well as digital industrial solutions is desirable.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications for daily sales activities.
  • Willingness to travel within Austria and a valid Class B driver’s license.
