As a Senior Engineer specialising in HashiCorp Vault, you will lead thedesign, build, and implementationof a centralised, consumable secrets management service across on-prem and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). This role will be instrumental in delivering a secure, scalable, and auditable solution usingHashiCorp Vault, ensuring compliance with internal security policies and industry best practices.

Design and Build : Define and document solution architecture for Vault deployments tailored to enterprise-scale secret management use cases. Build and implement a consumable service for the storage andmanagementofsecretsfor our workloads both on-prem or hosted in cloud environments on AWS, GCP or Azure.

Implementation & Automation: Build and deploy Vault clusters across cloud and on-prem environments. Automate secret provisioning, rotation, and expiration using Vault’s dynamic secrets engines and integrations. Migrate existing secrets from AWS Secrets Manager to the new Vault-based platform.

Security & Compliance: Ensure all secrets are encrypted using approved algorithms. Implement strict access controls and authentication mechanisms for non-human identities. Enforce time-bound access and automatic expiration of secrets.

Audit & Metadata Management: Enable full audit logging of all secret operations. Capture and store metadata including creation, consumption, rotation, and ownership details. Provide traceability and accountability for all secret interactions.

Operations & Support: Monitor and maintain Vault infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and incident response. Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures.

Collaboration & Leadership: Work with cross-functional teams including developers, security engineers, and product managers. Work closely with DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams to integrate Vault into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments. Provide documentation, training, and support to internal teams consuming the secrets service.

• Prior experience in a similar role ideally in enterprise environments
• Significant years of experience in infrastructure security or DevSecOps roles.
• Deep expertise inHashiCorp Vault, including dynamic secrets, PKI, and AppRole.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go) and experience withTerraformor other IaC tools.
• Experience withAWS, GCP, and Azurecloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Vault Agent Injector.
• Strong understanding of encryption, identity management, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience with audit logging, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• A solid understanding of Agile practices
• Able to coordinate and prioritise tasks & workload
• A high level of proficiency in modern architecture practices
• Previous experience interfacing with product delivery teams
• Excellent presentation & communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience migrating secrets from AWS Secrets Manager or similar tools.
• Knowledge of PAM tools (e.g., CyberArk, Delinea).
• Certifications in cloud security or HashiCorp Vault.
