Job Description:

As an Embedded Linux Integration Engineer, your responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing, and implementing solutions, ensuring system integrity, and supporting system security. You will work closely with software developers, project management, and other teams to ensure successful integration and functionality of our systems.

Technologies & Tools: Embedded Linux, Red Hat Linux, Linux Shell Scripts, Yocto, Python, TCL, C/C++, Network Protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, HTTP, etc.), Containerization, Virtualization, Jira, Jama, Jenkins, SVN, GIT, Artifactory, Blackduck, Wireshark, Raspberry Pi.

Key Tasks:

  1. Integrate hardware and software components into the Frequentis Embedded Linux distribution.
  2. Coordinate between project management and software development to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  3. Support error analysis and guide developers through source code review if needed.
  4. Develop and execute test cases to verify component and module functionality and compatibility.
  5. Analyze system requirements and design documents to prevent integration issues; set up and configure test environments.
  6. Document solutions, findings, and know-how using tools like Jira, Jama, and Confluence.
  7. Participate in reviews and provide feedback to improve quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
  8. Collaborate with embedded software team and support colleagues from other teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in embedded systems or computer science with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and teamwork skills for seamless software component integration.
  • Good IT infrastructure knowledge from previous work experience.
  • Interest in IT security, scripting languages, embedded hardware/software, especially Linux, and hardware affinity.
  • Proficiency in English and German, both spoken and written, including technical documentation.
