(Senior) IoT Solutions Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and experienced (Senior) IoT Solutions Engineer to join our team and help us build and maintain scalable IoT solutions. You will play a key role in configuring and developing edge-level systems, integrating a variety of devices and protocols, and supporting the deployment of Linux-based applications in real-world environments.

At Wohnio, you'll be working on one of the greatest challenges of our time: decarbonizing the building sector. We are digitalizing and decarbonizing central heating systems in multi-unit residential buildings. Our AI-powered IoT solution optimizes existing heating systems, reduces CO₂ emissions, and saves up to 30% in heating energy – all without major structural changes.

Tasks

• Configuration and maintenance of Linux-based instances for IoT edge environments
• Setup and configuration of networking devices and communication protocols
• Integration of end-devices such as sensors, actuators, meters, and controllers
• Deployment and management of containerized applications (e.g., Docker)

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Technical Informatics, or a related technical field
• Hands-on experience in IoT integration or system deployment
• 1–3 years of programming (Python)
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, particularly Modbus/TCP, MQTT, and M-Bus
• Experience working with Linux systems in a development context
• Experience working with Docker and containerized environments

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience in the integration of building and energy systems
• Background in electrical engineering or building automation
• Experience in designing and implementing control algorithms for automation systems
