Offer Description

The Departmentof Ecosystem Management, Climate and Biodiversity , Institute of Silviculture is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Extent of employment:40 hours per week
Duration of employment:1st of October 2025,limited to 30th of September 2028
Workplace: 1190 Vienna
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: €4.932,90
(payable 14 times per year)

Responsibilities

  • Research related to forest management concepts (unevenaged management, species change, forest risc assessment under climate change)
  • Teaching in mountain forest management, basics forest management techniques and natural resource management. The teaching covers lectures, excersises and field labs which need to be organiced and taught in German and English
  • Administrative duties such as the responsibilities for the field instruments and the data base of the field trials

Required skills and qualifications

  • Diploma degree in Forest Science or other equivalent university degree
  • Language skills: German and English

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Knowledge of the European forest management practices
  • Teaching experience in the required fields
  • Research experience in projects
