The Department of Chemistry and Physics of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, Austria, invites applications for the non-permanent Postdoc position (Job number GZ A 0047/1-2024). This position includes research and teaching in compliance with the Austrian University law (Universitätsassistent*en/in gem. § 26 Kollektivvertrag der Universitäten, position level B1). The monthly salary is € 4932,90 (14 times per year).

  • Start: September 1, 2025
  • Contract duration: 3 years
  • Working hours per week: 40 h, working times by arrangement

Tasks: Independent scientific research and teaching, scientific contributions in research and teaching tasks in functional materials for energy conversion and storage, support in administrative tasks. Independent teaching of four hours per week per semester. You will work in the field of solid-state chemical synthesis development and electrochemical and structural characterization of materials and interfaces, mainly in the application area of post-lithium-ion batteries.

Education: PhD in chemistry, material science or in related technical or natural sciences.

Additional qualifications: Experience in solid-state chemistry and solid-state and surface characterization techniques (i.e., XRD, TEM, SEM), experience in electrochemical characterization methods, specifically in the battery field, interest in sustainability related research, excellent language skills in English and German.

Personal skills: motivated, team-player, creative, enthusiastic about science.
