About the opportunity

We currently have one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.

We seek a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead our emergency response team and coordination efforts. As the Assistant Director Emergency Coordination, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our primary industries and communities from biosecurity threats and natural disasters.

Your responsibilities will include providing strategic advice and leadership in emergency management, developing and implementing state-level emergency response plans, ensuring effective communication and resource deployment during crises, and building strong partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance emergency management capabilities.

We are looking for individuals with:

• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team effectively to achieve key outcomes
• Proven experience in overseeing emergency responses, including resource allocation and timeline management
• Strong analytical skills to assess situations and develop informed solutions
• In-depth knowledge of the WA State Emergency Framework
