$167,250 – $189,550 (inclusive of 11.5% super)

Contracts and Leasing Team

The Contracts and Leasing Team works collaboratively to deliver cost-effective procurement and property management services that benefit the community and maximise the use of the Town’s assets. This includes overseeing property management tasks such as leases, licenses, easements, contracts, deeds of access, and vacant land not designated for parks or recreation. Additionally, the team manages procurement activities, including monitoring contract end dates and supporting the procurement process.

The Role

The Manager Contracts and Leasing plays a vital role in providing expert advice and leadership for the Town’s legal deliverables. Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Commercial Services, you will lead the Town’s Contracts and Leasing team and be responsible for the management of the Town’s contracts, procurement, property, and leases to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and effective service delivery to the community.

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on process improvement and innovation, with a desire to challenge the status quo and drive positive change. Key projects for this role include leading the Strategic Land Asset Strategy, Strategic Open Space and Community Facilities Masterplan, and Community Leasing Policy Review. As Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performing team aligned with the Town’s core values of Respect, Friendly and Helpful, Teamwork, Integrity, and Creativity.

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values and be able to demonstrate the following:

Substantial experience and knowledge in managing procurement processes, leases, contracts, and property related transactions in a legislated framework, preferably in Local Government.

High Level report writing skills and the ability to interpret legislation and provide advice.

Knowledge of the development of land management strategies to align with Council objectives.

Interpersonal and communication skills to negotiate on business matters and develop productive relationships at senior levels of an organisation.

Previous experience in managing and mentoring teams to achieve high productivity and deliver services in line with organisational values, standards, and policies.

Conceptual and analytical skills to develop effective policy, and to assess and manage risk in a dynamic business/local government environment.

Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or related field and/or extensive experience is desirable but not essential.

Right to work in Australia (birth certificate, current passport or current visa)

The successful applicant will be required to have current National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months).
