- Autonomous research and publication activities in the field of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry
- Participation in existing research projects and development of new research projects in the fields of "Variscan Orogeny" and "Early Earth Processes"
- Support of our analytical infrastructure at the institute (microprobe, LA-ICPMS, XRF, XRD, raman spectrometer, CL microscope)
- Possibility to work on a habilitation project
- Participation in the application process for third-party funded projects
- Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations
- Professional and organizational supervision of students of the Department of Earth Sciences
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
Your Responsibilities

Your Profile
- Completed doctorate/PhD in the area Earth Sciences
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English
- Very good IT skills
- Experience in mineral, geochemical and isotope/geochronological methods (microprobe, LA-ICPMS, XRF)
- Enjoyment of scientific work and working with students
- Independent and goal-oriented working style
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69,060.60 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Graz comprises the disciplines of geology, petrology and geochemistry, hydrogeology as well as paleontology and stratigraphy. We thus cover a broad spectrum of earth science research topics, dealing with
"Biodiversity and Evolution",
"Climate and Environment" and the
"Dynamics of the Solid Earth" and offering a holistic understanding of earth system processes. From the processes that we reconstruct from the past, we can create models for the future development of planet Earth.
