As a member of the AWS Support team, you will be at the forefront of this transformative technology, assisting a global customer base in leveraging a growing suite of services to run their mission-critical applications. The Cloud Support Engineer acts as a 'Cloud Ambassador', providing customers with the tools and tactics to maximize their investment in AWS products and support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Learn and utilize groundbreaking cloud technologies.
  2. Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to deliver tailored solutions.
  3. Engage with leading engineers worldwide.
  4. Collaborate with AWS teams to reproduce and resolve customer issues.
  5. Provide feedback to improve AWS services based on customer support experiences.
  6. Manage customer communication during critical events.
  7. Lead projects to enhance support processes and customer experience.
  8. Create tutorials, videos, and technical articles for the developer community.
  9. Address complex customer problems spanning multiple AWS services.

Daily Activities

This is a customer support role in the cloud. Support engineers primarily resolve customer cases via phone, email, and chat, employing advanced troubleshooting to deliver customized solutions. The role may also involve mentoring new hires, developing training, collaborating on complex issues, and participating in process improvements.

About the Team

The Big Data support team specializes in services that leverage data and AI/ML, including EMR, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Cassandra.

Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Presto.
  • System administration experience with Linux, Active Directory, and LDAP.
  • Deep knowledge of Hadoop architecture and distributed computing.
  • Expertise in NoSQL databases and blockchain technologies like Ethereum.
  • Experience with Data Lake architecture and administration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical discussion skills.
