Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist position to be based in our Perth Office. This position will be responsible for undertaking procurement and contracting requirements across EDL, Australia.

Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for developing and managing key procurement and contracting activities within a designated portfolio. You will help create robust market strategies and tender methodologies tailored to each requirement. Additionally, you will assist with developing, implementing, and managing procurement and contracting strategies to ensure the timely and successful delivery of goods, services, and projects aligned with the company's operational and capital projects goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing-to-contract award process, including RFx drafting, evaluation, negotiations, and contract formation.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans, including procurement strategies, sourcing options and contract models, aligning them with company and project objectives and risk mitigation
  • Identify potential risks in procurement and contracting activities and develop strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding project delivery.
  • Advise end users and stakeholders on contract-related matters.
  • Drive the development and implementation of savings opportunities, achieving measurable cost reductions and operational improvements through the contracting process.
  • Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including contract administration, performance monitoring, compliance, and issue resolution.
  • Management of vendor insurance and contracts register including the on-boarding of new suppliers and re-certification of existing suppliers in accordance with company policy.

  • Ability to travel when required.
  • In addition to the duties set out above, perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.

    Qualifications and Experience
  • Substantial Procurement/Contract Management &/or Administration experience (5-10 years)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience at a senior level in the development, assessment and successful delivery of relevant procurement Categories and/or Sourcing Events, and/or Project Procurement or Contract management, preferably within a utility or similar industry within Australia.
  • Qualifications in Contract management and/or Procurement or a related discipline, or extensive industry experience.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, commercial skills, and business acumen with proven capability in contract negotiations and the ability to understand and accurately interpret contracts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and dispute resolution skills with a sound ability to identify and effectively articulate problems and issues and the capability to think laterally to provide innovative solutions.
  • Working knowledge of supply agreements for goods and services.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, guidelines, principles and practices applicable to Procurement policies, OH&S etc or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire acceptable level of proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and achieve targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of PRONTO Xi or Oracle.
