What you can expect:

• API-First backend development: designing and building modern REST and asynchronous APIs with FastAPI
• System integration: developing high-performance interfaces for data sources, services, and AI modules
• AI data pipelines: assisting in the conception and implementation of ETL processes connecting machine learning and LLM components
• Packaging backend solutions: developing scalable backend components in a containerized (Docker, Linux) environment
• Testing & optimization: ensuring performance, stability, and scalability through automated testing, profiling, and performance tuning
• Team collaboration: working closely in an agile team environment alongside AI specialists and software engineers

Qualifications:

• A degree or training in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience with Python and FastAPI, ideally with tools like Pydantic, Uvicorn, SQLModel, etc.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, API design, and interface standards (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle); bonus: familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, FAISS, Weaviate)
• Knowledge of Docker, Linux, and modern development tools
• Interest or practical experience in AI/ML, especially with LLMs, NLP, or multimodal AI models
• A passion for clean code, collaboration, and building practical future technologies
• Good communication skills and English proficiency

Salary:

We prefer to discuss salary in person, but to give an idea: we align with market standards—depending on the role and qualifications, an above-collective agreement salary is possible from the start. For this position, the annual gross salary starts at a minimum of 47,600 EUR, with potential for more based on experience and qualifications.

Locations include Kollerschlag, Sankt Marienkirchen bei Schärding, all in Upper Austria.
