THE CHALLENGE:

As a Senior Software Engineer - Python (m/f/d) for FanID at Sportradar, you will work on various parts of the software stack, contributing to development, testing, and documentation. You’ll be part of a collaborative cross-functional team and play a crucial role in delivering quality software that provides business value. This position is ideal for engineers passionate about using cutting-edge technologies to build scalable, reliable systems. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, learning from peers, and growing in an innovative environment, we’d love to have you join our team.

From a technical perspective, we create and manage data cleanrooms using Python on AWS. We deploy to AWS Lambdas for our APIs, which connect to Amazon DynamoDB for handling mutable data. Big data volumes are stored on S3 and transferred to external services as needed. All infrastructure is managed as code (IaC) using Terraform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain our cloud-native product, from requirements gathering to creating fully functional user-facing software
  • Contribute to technical architecture
  • Design and develop data-driven, scalable systems with a focus on quality, observability, and security
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Apply best practices throughout the software development lifecycle

ABOUT YOU:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in agile software development (Python)
  • Experience developing in at least one high-level programming language
  • Experience analyzing complex datasets using Pandas, NumPy, etc.
  • Passion for clean code and testing
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Keen interest in new technologies and learning
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure

OUR OFFER:

  • A collaborative environment with colleagues worldwide (offices in Europe, Asia, and the US)
  • Opportunity to shape your workday and career through a clear professional and personal development plan
  • Work with senior leadership, develop your skills, and build your career within a dynamic, fast-growing company in digital sports
  • A vibrant, inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups
  • A company culture promoting social activities, sports, and fun
  • Innovative team challenges like ShipIt, sports tournaments, and beer brewing competitions
  • Competitive salary and benefits (e.g., retirement plan, insurance)
  • Coverage of €365 for the annual public transport ticket

We value flexible work options but believe that in-person collaboration fosters stronger innovation. Our hybrid model involves working in the office 3 days a week.

The minimum monthly salary is aligned with the Collective Bargaining Agreement; overpayment depends on qualifications and experience.

Our new office near Nordbahnviertel (Praterstern) in Vienna is easily accessible by public transport and offers modern infrastructure.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A brief chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner
  • Theoretical Technical Interview: 60-minute discussion with the technical team
  • Live Coding Interview: 60-minute coding session focusing on your approach and code quality
