We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Procurement Operations Manager to develop and implement procurement plans and strategies that meet Kmart Group's service requirements, challenge and motivate service providers to optimize service outcomes at a Brand level, and enhance stakeholder engagement and collaboration across the Brands. This role will partner with stakeholders to develop innovative supply and service strategies, lead high-level negotiations, and successfully deliver procurement activities that achieve optimal service and commercial outcomes.

What you'll be doing

As a Procurement Operations Manager working for Kmart Group, you will:

• Ensure effective governance processes and approaches to procurement and contract management are integrated into procurement activities.
• Incorporate business insights and objectives into strategy development and create innovative procurement solutions at a project, category, or Brand level.
• Ensure contract agreements include provisions to monitor supplier performance against contracted deliverables.
• Develop procurement strategies based on market conditions, category/service analysis, and a deep understanding of business demand and requirements.
• Monitor procurement and contract management risks, ensuring they inform contract development and ongoing management.
• Develop and engage in approaches to generate solutions, seek SME inputs, and inform negotiating strategies.
• Represent the organization in critical negotiations, including cross-divisional ones, achieving effective solutions in challenging relationships and conflicting priorities.
• Establish strong relationships with strategic suppliers and develop frameworks to identify and track benefits through supplier relationships.
• Investigate and create opportunities to enhance organizational objectives.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• At least 5 years of experience managing procurement processes, evaluation, and contract formation.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey strategies and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership experience in managing high-performing teams and building relationships.
• Ability to ensure procurement governance and contract management are integrated into activities.
• Experience in developing procurement strategies based on market analysis and business requirements.
• An attitude to develop solutions, seek SME advice, and inform negotiation strategies.
• A collaborative team mentality to solve issues and improve processes.
• Multi-tasking abilities to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and pride in delivering on commitments.
• Experience working with stakeholders in major spend categories like Supply Chain, Marketing, IT, and Store Operations is highly regarded.
• A track record of process improvements and implementing innovations is favorable.
• Previous involvement in organizational transformational projects in a leadership role is a plus.
