Insurance Legal Specialist (Common Law) - Fully Remote Position, Vöcklabruck

Position Overview

An international group focused on hydro projects is seeking an Insurance Legal Specialist to join their team remotely. Reporting to the Group Insurance Director, the candidate will manage global liability and cyber insurance lines, oversee risk management, review contracts, and support M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Liability Insurance Line Management: Renew and place global master general and professional liability policies annually. Coordinate local and project policies, collaborate with brokers and insurers, and manage complex liability claims across jurisdictions.
2. Cyber Insurance Line Management: Renew and place global cyber insurance policies, oversee underwriting, and lead the cyber incident response team.
3. Risk Management: Analyze loss data, identify exposures, recommend solutions, and monitor compliance with insurance procedures.
4. Contract Review: Review and negotiate customer insurance requirements in EPC contracts to ensure compliance with master insurance programs.
5. M&A Support: Solicit quotes for reps and warranties insurance, analyze offers, and facilitate the insurance process for mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Preferably a legal degree with a focus on common law.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in an insurance company, insurance department of an international firm, or law firm.
• Deep understanding of third-party liability insurance, global insurance programs, and litigation.
• Ability to work internationally, including travel as needed.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Independent, precise, and problem-solving working style.
• Strong team spirit and commitment.

Additional Details

Fully remote position with potential business trips within the EU and US.

Salary: €60,000 - €85,000 + up to 15% MBO + benefits.

No people management responsibilities.
