Job Description:
This role is within an international environment, focusing on hydro projects for a global group. The Insurance Legal Specialist will report to the Group Insurance Director and will be responsible for managing various insurance lines, risk management, contract review, and supporting M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liability Insurance Line Management: Renew and place global master general and professional liability policies annually. Coordinate local and project policies as needed. Collaborate with brokers, insurers, and teams to ensure policies meet business needs. Manage complex global third-party liability claims and communicate strategies effectively.
- Cyber Insurance Line Management: Renew and place global cyber insurance policies. Collaborate with IT and internal teams to ensure coverage aligns with business needs. Lead cyber incident response team for insurance matters.
- Risk Management: Analyze loss data, identify exposures, recommend solutions, and monitor compliance with insurance procedures. Promote loss prevention strategies.
- Contract Review: Review and negotiate customer insurance requirements in EPC contracts to ensure compliance with the master insurance program and company policies.
- M&A Support: Solicit quotes for reps and warranties insurance, analyze offers, and facilitate processes for M&A transactions.
Qualifications:
- Preferably a legal background with academic education (common law preferred).
- At least 10 years of experience in an insurance company, insurance department of an international company, or law firm.
- Deep understanding of third-party liability insurance, including global insurance programs and litigation.
- Ability to work in a global setting, including international travel on demand.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Independent, precise, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
- Global focus and adaptability.
Additional Details:
Fully remote position with potential business trips within the EU and US.
Salary package: 60,000 - 85,000 € + MBO up to 15% + benefits.
No people management responsibilities.
