Senior Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

As part of the Technical Team, the Senior Designer plays a key role for the sales and execution process of sophisticated metallurgical plants of utmost quality and reliability and is responsible for the standardization and innovation of the assigned areas or machines, coordinating with with internal & external relations (project managers, proposal dept., site teams, customers, suppliers).

Main Tasks and Key Responsibilities

• Designs the technological areas and machines assigned according to the contract and the last Company standard - in respect of time, cost and quality.
• Basic and Detail design of the machines in the sales and execution phase
• Elaboration of layouts and concepts
• Take care of time, cost and quality of the assigned jobs
• Standardization, improvement/innovation and benchmark of processes and machines
• Shares the knowledge with the whole team (especially junior)
• Microplanning and validation of assigned tasks / projects

Technical Requirements

• Engineering/technical degree or high school diploma (mechanical engineering or comparable)
• Deep knowledge of his specific technological area of steel production
• At least 5 years of experience as senior/team leader in steel plant design, equipment design, and project development
• Knowledge of Machine Design, Revamping and Upgrading Plants, Contract Documentation.
• Knowledge of Construction & Installation
• Knowledge of Production System Design and engineering
• Full knowledge of Inventor/Autocad and/or other 3D environments
• Good knowledge of English

What we offer:

• Attractive remuneration, minimum salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for metalworking industry ("Metalltechnische Industrie") level G is EUR 4.269,07 € (basic level). An overpayment based on experience and qualification can be granted.
