Senior Project Officer, Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care

The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.

Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

AHCSA delivers nationally accredited training and has been registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 2004 (RTO 40142). AHCSA prides itself on providing a comfortable learning environment reflective of the organisation’s cultural values and connections.

AHCSA is being funded to review and revitalise the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care Skill Set delivered through AHCSA’s RTO to ensure that information about maternity care for Aboriginal women is contemporary and accurate.

Broad Purpose of the Role

The Senior Project Officer, Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care (AMIC) position is a 0.5 Part-Time 2 year fixed position.

The Senior Project Officer, Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care (Senior Project Officer) is responsible for managing all aspects of the project to update the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Care Skill Set, including working with Member Services, RTO staff, industry experts and other key stakeholders to identify and coordinate resource updates and address changes required to course units.

The Senior Project Officer coordinates key processes including facilitating stakeholder consultation, collecting and synthesising stakeholder input, and providing regular updates to involved parties. Additionally, the role involves coordinating project planning, monitoring, reporting and managing the budget in accordance with funding requirements.
