About the role
Rembrandt Living is seeking an experienced Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to join our talented IT team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintaining Rembrandt Living's critical technology infrastructure and systems architecture. Based in our Oaklands Park office, you will play a pivotal role in driving technological innovation and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Rembrandt Living's IT environment.
What you'll be doing
- Infrastructure Design & Architecture: Design and develop enterprise-level architecture for server, storage, network, and cloud environments. Create and maintain technical roadmaps that align with organisational goals and industry best practices. Develop reference architectures and technical standards for infrastructure deployments.
- Systems Administration: Engineer, implement, and optimise complex systems including virtualisation platforms, hybrid cloud environments, and enterprise applications. Ensure system availability, performance, and security across all platforms.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure (Azure, AWS) including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions. Develop cloud migration strategies and architect hybrid solutions that leverage both on-premises and cloud resources.
- Network Management: Manage and troubleshoot local and wide area networks, including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless networks to ensure secure and reliable communication across the organisation.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices and policies. Regularly audit IT systems for vulnerabilities, apply patches, and manage access controls. Ensure the organisation complies with relevant regulations, such as data privacy and HIPAA, where applicable. Conduct security architecture reviews and risk assessments.
- Technical Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior IT team members. Act as the technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and systems issues. Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Project Engineering: Lead the technical aspects of major infrastructure projects from conception through implementation. Develop project specifications, technical designs, and implementation plans. Ensure technical quality across all project deliverables.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in IT systems / infrastructure administration, preferably within a healthcare or aged care environment
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing (Azure, AWS) and on-premises infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Strong track record of successfully executing complex infrastructure projects and migrations
- Proven experience with server, network, and storage management, including virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and IT service management frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
