The Support Services Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and continuous improvement of Breast Cancer Care WA’s frontline support services. Leading a multidisciplinary team of experienced nurses, counsellors and allied health professionals the Support Services Manager ensures that services are delivered effectively, compassionately, and in line with best practice clinical and psychosocial care.
The purpose of this position is to enable the development and execution of Breast Cancer Care WA’s strategic purpose, drive tendering and contract success, coordinate internal resources to effectively and efficiently achieve organisational objectives and enhance business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and support a highly functioning and engaged multidisciplinary team of nurses, counsellors and Allied Health Professionals.
Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance culture within the team.
Support strategic decision-making through data analysis and performance insights.
Service Delivery & Operations
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service programs to ensure they meet client needs and organisational objectives
Ensure services are aligned with current clinical guidelines, mental health standards, and trauma-informed care principles.
Monitor client caseloads, ensure equitable workloads, and manage service capacity.
Lead initiatives that enhance service quality, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Identify opportunities for service innovation and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement frameworks for continuous service improvement and client feedback integration.
Manage budgets, resource allocation, and financial planning related to service delivery.
Identify opportunities for funding, grants, and partnerships to support service expansion and sustainability.
Quality & Compliance
Maintain and develop service protocols, procedures, and documentation in line with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
Ensure compliance with professional standards, privacy regulations, and risk management procedures.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and lead implementation of service innovations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organisations, and other stakeholders to enhance support pathways and referrals.
Represent Breast Cancer Care WA in external forums and sector working groups as needed.
Advocate for the psychosocial needs of people with breast cancer at community and policy levels.
Reporting & Administration
Collect and analyse service data to inform strategic planning and reporting.
Prepare regular reports for senior management and the board.
Contribute to grant applications, service proposals, and impact reporting.
Key Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in nursing, psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field.
Significant experience in managing clinical or psychosocial support services.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
High-level understanding of issues affecting people diagnosed with breast cancer and their families.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong organisational and analytical skills, including data-driven decision making.
Postgraduate qualification in Health Administration, Management, or Public Health.
Understanding of WA health systems and community support networks.
Experience in service planning, health promotion, and community engagement
