BOQ Group is looking for a dedicated and experienced Line 1 Risk Manager, an SME in third-party supplier risk, to join our Transformation & Operations division. In this role, you will oversee and manage risks associated with the Group's third-party suppliers, including performing supplier risk assessments, reporting to Divisional Risk Committees on supplier risk exposures, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with Line 1 Risk Advisory teams and Service Provider Governance to ensure effective supplier risk management. Your responsibilities include integrating risk management frameworks into business operations, strengthening controls, and promoting innovative risk solutions aligned with BOQ Group's strategic goals. Collaboration with departments like Legal and Service Provider Governance to manage relationships and risks, along with conducting training, will be key aspects of your role.

As a trusted advisor, you will deliver risk assessments for new or changed third-party providers, provide pragmatic risk advice, identify control gaps, and support risk reduction initiatives.

About you

We seek a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in risk and third-party management, ideally within banking or financial services. Expertise in CPS230 and supplier management risk is essential, along with experience developing risk processes and conducting assessments. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related fields and certifications like CRISC or CISM are preferred.

You should have strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively, especially when reviewing processes, identifying root causes, and proposing improvements to stakeholders at various levels.
