Senior Test Lead – UKG Payroll Implementation (Contract)

Our client is seeking a Test Lead to support a major HR and Payroll systems transformation program. As their legacy payroll platform reaches end-of-life, they are implementing UKG as the new solution within a broader HCM (Human Capital Management) initiative.

You will join an established Enterprise PMO team that includes a Program Manager, Project Manager, and Training & Communications professionals. While there are already testers on the program, this role is pivotal to uplift testing capability, provide leadership, and bring strong technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of the UKG implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the testing workstream for the UKG implementation within the HCM program.
• Uplift existing testers by mentoring and guiding them in best practices.
• Write and review comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Coordinate and support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and payroll parallel runs.
• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders including vendor teams, HR/payroll SMEs, and technical teams.
• Ensure test coverage across complex business scenarios, payroll cycles, and compliance requirements.

About You:

• Strong hands-on experience leading test streams on HR/Payroll systems implementations – ideally UKG, Kronos, SAP, or similar.
• Deep understanding of test management tools and defect tracking systems.
• Proven ability to support and uplift testing teams in large-scale transformation programs.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
