  • Fixed term for one year| Part-Time 0.8 FTE
  • Higher Education Officer Level 7|$97,503 - $107,932 p.a. pro rata

Reporting to the Director, Research Partnerships and Development and working in close collaboration with the Flinders Factory of the Future (FFF) Team, the incumbent will provide executive level support relating to the planning, development, and project management of FFF's research program. They will play a key role in the success of the Manufacturing Growth Accelerator and Strategic Industry Research Programmes.

This role is also responsible for:

  • Contribute to and coordinate the preparation of progress and annual reports to meet University and contractual obligations with the State and Commonwealth governments.
  • Support for research grant preparation and grants management.
  • Implement and manage a regular financial reporting process covering the FFF to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Monitor budgets and provide reports for annual budgetary, operational, and business planning activities of the Centre and provide recommendations to the FFF Director on policy development of effective financial control and overall budget management.

About You

With previous experience in high level business, project and event management - especially within the research space, your effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, enable you to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including assisting the Chief Research Development Officer and senior researchers to establish and develop collaborative partnerships across disciplines.

Your great communication skills both written and verbal, make you a good person to work with, adaptable and reliable, with an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

You also have a working knowledge in financial management, with the ability to monitor, prepare and interpret financial reports.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
  • Organisational skills including attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously to strict deadlines.
  • Well-developed to high level oral and written communication skills (including presentation skills), that support timely and accurate sharing of information or the provision of advice.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of software, databases and management information systems.
