As Procurement Leader, you will be accountable for designing strategies based on data analysis to identify improvement opportunities along the supply chain, whilst guaranteeing an efficient and effective procurement operation across the Synergy owned stores and the buying group. You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the staff. You will be responsible for managing the documentation and tracking of procurement, inventory, and distribution activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Your role also includes coordinating team workflows and evaluating staff performance to drive operational efficiency and maintain high standards, ensuring smooth daily operations, managing team activities, addressing staff needs, and acting as the primary point of contact to maintain productivity and team cohesion. A key to this position is the ability to positively engage and work with not only internal staff but also suppliers and members to build inclusive and harmonious business relationships.

About the Role

Working Monday to Friday, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and within a team of people who focus on ensuring our customers and staff receive quality and efficient service.

Location

This position will be based at our Darra branch.

Responsibilities include:

Extract, review and analyse procurement databases to identify areas of for cost reduction.

Compile data to support procurement-related decisions.

Managing suppliers’ relationship and negotiating contract prices.

Design contracts with main suppliers based on volume, pricing and payment terms.

Generate and review purchase orders using the Pronto ERP system; ensure orders are placed in line with established minimum and maximum stock levels.

Verify supplier pricing for orders and request correct invoicing to suppliers according to the valid pricing list.

Monitor and manage order deliveries to ensure delivery dates are fulfilled and minimise logistic issues.

Identify and pursue bulk purchasing opportunities to leverage volume discounts, reduce costs, and optimise supplier negotiations.

Identify and suggest alternative suppliers or products where requested item cannot be sourced.

Check and maintain suppliers’ data accuracy in the ERP system Pronto.

Handles escalated purchasing issues relating to customer issues or problem accounts as well as general problem solving and trouble shooting.

Provide guidance and support to the team members as needed.

Leading, mentoring and developing the team to a high level of customer service delivery and quality and professional performance.

Ensuring yourself and the team’s adherence to Workplace Health & Safety requirements and other Company Policies and Procedures.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field

At least 2 - 5 years previous experience in an industrial supply setting.

Strong analytical skills and experience working with procurement data.

Familiarity with ERP systems (Pronto experience is preferred).

Ability to prioritise and perform effective time management.

A technical and logical thought process as well as a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Supervising experience and team building skills.

Strong computer literacy in Microsoft office including Word and Excel.

Positive demeanour and professional presentation.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills to develop productive and professional relationships with colleagues, management and customers.

Ability to work unsupervised with good time management skills.

Can accept a high level of responsibility and accountability of all related tasks.

Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
