Director of Technology

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions help solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.

Technical and operational leadership of the process technology team, including advancing the process technology roadmap, defining hardware requirements to meet the roadmap, performing cost of ownership calculations, and developing responses to a competitiveness scorecard.

• Manage the technical and operational aspects of the technology team in Salzburg and Berlin, ensuring close alignment and support with the field technology team.
• Lead the development of differentiated electrochemical and wet processing techniques such as cleaning, stripping, developing, and etching processes for panel and substrate technologies.

• Plan and execute complex scientific and technical experiments.

• Evaluate, document, and present results.

• Conduct literature research on existing processes and products.

• Write technical reports and deliver presentations.

• Engage with customers on technological issues.

• Travel for regular customer visits to address issues, present roadmaps, and manage escalations.

• Own demos for customers in our labs.

• Manage all lab activities, including tool availability, metrology, chemical handling, and waste management.

• Manage engineers conducting demos.

• Provide public technological leadership for the team.

• Attend and present at trade shows.

• Publish in academic and industry journals.

• Coordinate experiments with universities.

• Completed university studies (master's degree or diploma) in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
• At least 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Several years of leadership experience with proven team collaboration skills.
• Business-fluent in English.
• High customer orientation.
• Strong technical interest and problem-solving skills.
• Systematic approach to work and independent problem-solving strategies (e.g., FMEA).
• Good communication skills and intercultural competence.
