L&S Recruitment and Consulting is looking for a General Manager of Operations, for our client; you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Their fabricationoperations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, process improvement, and team leadership, driving the company's growth and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team across fabrication, project management, workshop, and logistics functions.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve lead times.
  • Oversee project execution from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and optimise resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and safety protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and finance departments to achieve company objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Prepare and manage operational budgets.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior operations management role within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and industry best practices desired.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in operational software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to safety and quality excellence.
Advantageous Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering background or qualification.
  • Extensive experience in piping fabrication.
