To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience:

  • Motivated and experienced AVP sought to join Barclays' Leveraged Finance team in Sydney.
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high deal volume environment on a broad range of financing transactions (leveraged finance, private credit) for diverse clients (financial sponsors, corporates).
  • As an AVP, you will lead financial modeling, due diligence, and prepare marketing and internal approval materials. Experience in leveraged finance and/or private credit is preferred. Candidates should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and able to work well under pressure.

Purpose of the role

Build and maintain client relationships, understand their needs, expectations, and financial goals to develop and propose suitable investment banking solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
  • Generate ideas and identify opportunities to expand the bank's client base and generate new business.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess financial health and valuation.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation for transactions.
  • Work with teams such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management to provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Engage with clients on energy transition and sustainability strategies and opportunities.
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Lead or guide teams performing complex tasks, set objectives, and coach employees.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors such as listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others.
  • For individual contributors, lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, and identify new directions for projects.
  • Consult on complex issues and support risk mitigation and policy development.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls related to your work.
  • Perform related work, understanding how different areas contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate across functions to stay aligned with business activities and strategy.
  • Analyze complex data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and effectively.
  • Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
