This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of SEON. We are currently looking for an AI Principal Engineer / Architect in EU.

As an AI Principal Engineer / Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced AI systems that power real-time decision-making in high-stakes environments. You will be responsible for shaping the AI strategy, driving model development and lifecycle management, and ensuring seamless integration of AI capabilities across product and platform teams. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on engineering, allowing you to prototype, scale, and optimize generative and traditional ML solutions. You will collaborate across domains, influence AI-driven product decisions, and help set technical standards for a cutting-edge, data-rich SaaS environment. The position is fully remote within the EU and offers the opportunity to directly impact scalable AI systems used by top global digital brands.

Accountabilities

  • Architect and scale AI/ML systems for real-time and generative use cases, including embeddings, prompt pipelines, feature stores, and inference services.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into workflows that detect fraud and surface actionable insights.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure, SDKs, and pipelines for LLM integration, prompt templating, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Define AI infrastructure standards, including model lifecycle management, versioning, deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to shape AI-first features and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Explore and prototype emerging AI tools, open-source models, and vector store technologies to test real-world applicability.
  • Champion engineering standards for reliable, testable, and observable AI systems.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience building scalable AI/ML systems, preferably in SaaS, B2B, or data-intensive environments.
  • Strong knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search technologies (e.g., FAISS, pgvector), and RAG workflows.
  • Expertise in AWS-native AI/ML infrastructure (SageMaker, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway).
  • Proven system design skills, balancing latency, scalability, experimentation, and cost.
  • Familiarity with the full AI lifecycle: prototyping, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers or data scientists.
  • Product-oriented mindset: ability to translate AI capabilities into solutions that deliver real user value.
  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Bonus: experience in fraud detection, fintech, risk management, or security domains.
