About This Role

Embark on an exciting journey as a Rust Engineer at Polygon.io, where you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our low-level feed handlers. This fundamental layer consumes, captures, and analyzes exchange data feeds. The project involves challenges such as 100g networking, FPGAs, and petabytes of storage. We are modernizing Wall St and this role is at the core of that effort, requiring expertise in networking, computing, and storage working in harmony.

As a key member of a small elite team, you will influence architectural and design decisions for this critical layer. Your Rust expertise will be central to creating efficient, stable, and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Help architect, design, and implement critical components of our feed handling layer.
• Build hardware and software capable of capturing 60M packets/sec, analyze captures for dropped packets, and merge/dedupe captures from multiple datacenters (~5TB/day and growing).
• Collaborate closely with a talented team to build and improve our technology stack.
• Conduct performance analysis, profiling, and benchmarking to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain high code quality.
• Stay updated with advancements in Rust and networking technologies (e.g., DPDK, DPUs) to leverage new techniques for system improvements.

Skills And Qualifications

• Proficiency in Rust programming language.
• Passionate about learning and problem-solving.
• Enjoy ownership and responsibility for projects.
• Strong work ethic with a focus on delivering results without micromanagement.
• Understanding of networking and kernel bypass is a plus.
• Experience with financial data or in the industry is a plus.
