We are currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager who combines strong leadership skills with a business-oriented mindset to guide our experienced accounting team in Vienna and drive key financial initiatives across BESTSELLER Region EAST.
Accounting Manager – Austria Hub (m/f/n)
Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of 7 accounting professionals at our Finance Hub in Vienna
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in line with local GAAP and group policies
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets
Act as the main point of contact for internal teams, group finance, and external stakeholders across the region
Prepare and review key financial reports, including monthly profit and loss statements
Coordinate with the Tax Manager on annual financial statements and tax-related reporting
Manage local statutory reporting and ensure smooth external audits
Continuously improve and standardize accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
Support cross-functional finance projects (e.g., SAP S/4HANA implementation, new BI/reporting tools)
Foster a strong team culture focused on collaboration, learning, and shared success
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Several years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally in a group or shared service environment
Proven leadership experience (e.g. team lead or senior accountant coordinating others)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Solid knowledge of national accounting standards (IFRS is a plus)
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Navision); familiarity with Power BI or similar tools is an advantage
A proactive, structured personality with a focus on solutions and continuous improvement
Full professional fluency in German and English (spoken and written)

The gross monthly salary for this position is based on the Austrian retail collective agreement. However, the final offer will be tailored individually, reflecting your experience and qualifications.
