Join a fast-growing, specialised medical devices company with a strong and expanding presence across Asia. As part of a larger global group headquartered in the USA, the business operates independently in the region and is experiencing significant growth.

The company is seeking a Business Finance Manager to lead the end-to-end finance function for their Australian operations. This is a newly created, stand-alone role reporting directly to the Head of Finance, Asia based in Hong Kong. It offers a rare opportunity to be a key business partner to local leadership and play a vital role in shaping the financial future of the business.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who brings a well-rounded skill set across financial reporting, tax compliance, management reporting, and business partnering. You'll work closely with the General Manager and commercial teams to drive efficiencies, enhance financial processes, and implement robust internal controls.

The annual local turnover for the Australian local business is $10m, so this role will be well suited to a hands-on person who enjoys working for a growing business.

Duties include:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of audited financial statements and ensure full compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, business reviews, and weekly latest estimates (LE).
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis and prepare regular financial performance reports, including sales, average selling prices (ASP), margins, and departmental spend.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights to support the Regional Finance team and local leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and track operational expenses such as advertising, promotions, travel and entertainment (T&E), and accruals.
  • Lead the annual standard costing process and perform inventory revaluation assessments.
  • Provide support on ad hoc financial projects and strategic business analysis as required.
  • Serve as the primary local finance contact for all General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) matters partnering with shared services in Malaysia.
  • Manage day-to-day coordination with outsourced finance service providers to ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely financial reporting.

About You:

  • Industry experience in medical devices or pharmaceuticals is required.
  • Proven experience working with enterprise-level ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Comfortable working within global, cross-regional finance teams and navigating matrixed reporting structures.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on, proactive approach to driving improvements.
