We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Manager to lead and advise on Tivan’s project contracting and procurement functions for project planning, execution and operational phases. This role will be central in further developing and managing procurement systems, executing procurement processes, negotiating and managing contracts, and developing and implementing contracting models for delivery of projects. This role offers variety and challenge, covering both complex contractual arrangements and day‑to‑day contracting activities.
Further develop, implement and manage the Company’s procurement function, including plans, processes, systems and reporting structures.
Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Project Director / Managers to develop and implement contracting models for project execution and operations.
Identify and source contractors and suppliers and manage related processes, including pre‑qualification, expressions of interests, tendering and bid evaluation processes.
Lead the full contract lifecycle through contract negotiation, execution, management, and close‑out.
Monitor and report on contractor performance against agreed schedules, budgets, local and indigenous workforce and business requirements, and compliance requirements.
Oversee contract progress claims, variations, extensions of time and settlements.
Consider global supply strategies to deliver value in supply.
Develop a suite of standard contracts, forms and supporting documents in consultation with external legal advisors, and maintain contract and procurement registers.
Assist with ensuring bankability of contracts for project financing requirements.
Ensure commercial strategies align with project and corporate objectives and mitigate contractual and financial risks.
Provide advice on commercial terms, contract law and industry standards.
Contribute to project and corporate risk management processes.
You are a highly experienced Contracts & Procurement professional who has successfully managed mining projects through final study phases and into execution and operations. You have experience in structuring a variety of contract models for project execution including EPCM and EPC, and in managing the full procurement and contract lifecycle. The ability to refine and systemise contracting and procurement functions is part of your skill set.
15+ years' experience in contracting strategy development, contract management and procurement for mining project planning, execution and operational phases.
Significant experience in structuring and executing contracting models for mining project delivery including EPCM, EPC and gainshare / painshare models.
Proven experience in tender preparation and evaluation.
Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement practices, construction management and mining industry commercial frameworks.
Demonstrated capability in managing variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual risk.
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value and cost control.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills.
Proven experience developing contract and procurement systems and processes.
Proficiency with contract management systems and MS Office.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, in either law, commerce, construction or contract management or engineering.
Experience with Early Contractor Involvement models.
Experience working with Pronto Xi and Purchase Requisition Approval System module.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse teams and stakeholders.
